How to connect WaitQ to Zapier

Create an API key in WaitQ, connect your account in Zapier, and automate your waitlists, bookings and guest lists with thousands of apps.

With Zapier, WaitQ can send new guests, status changes, bookings and customers to thousands of other apps, such as Google Sheets, Slack, HubSpot or Mailchimp. It can also add guests and bookings to WaitQ when something happens in your other tools.

Zapier is available on the Business plan and with an Access Pass. You need to be a business admin to create the API key. You also need a Zapier account.

1. Create an API key in WaitQ

Go to Integrations and click Configure on the Zapier card. Enter a name for the key, for example "Zapier", and click Create API key.

Copy the key straight away. For your security, WaitQ shows it only once. If you lose it, revoke it and create a new one.

2. Connect your WaitQ account in Zapier

In the same dialog, click Open WaitQ on Zapier, or search for WaitQ when you add a step to a Zap. When Zapier asks you to connect an account, paste the API key you copied.

The connection is linked to the business the key was created in. If you manage more than one business, create a key in each one and connect each as a separate account in Zapier.

3. Build your first Zap

Choose a WaitQ trigger to start a Zap when something happens in WaitQ:

  • New Guest on Waitlist and Waitlist Status Changed
  • New Booking
  • New Guest on Guest List and Guest List Status Changed
  • New Customer

Or use a WaitQ action to add records from your other tools:

  • Add Guest to Waitlist
  • Create Booking
  • Add Guest to Guest List
  • Find Customer and Find Guest on Guest List

Most triggers let you pick a location and a list, so a Zap only runs for the queue or booking list you care about.

Some ideas to start with:

  • Add every new booking to a Google Sheet.
  • Post a Slack message when a guest is checked in.
  • Add new customers to your Mailchimp or HubSpot audience.
  • Create a booking in WaitQ when someone fills in a form on your website.

Guests and bookings created through Zapier don't receive automatic join or confirmation messages from WaitQ.

Manage or disconnect

Your active keys are listed in Integrations → Zapier → Configure, with the date each was last used. To disconnect Zapier, click Revoke on its key. Every Zap that uses that key stops working straight away.

If you move to a plan without integrations, your Zaps stop receiving WaitQ events until you upgrade again.
