How to get your salon or barbershop running on WaitQ in 5 steps

Configure services, staff access, walk-ins, appointments, and reminders for your first day.

Step 1: Create the location and its services

Add your salon or barbershop as a location and configure its working hours. Create customer-facing services such as haircut, beard trim, colour, or consultation, with a realistic duration for each one.

Step 2: Decide how you accept customers

Create a queue for customers who want the next available place. Create a booking list when customers should choose a future time. You can use both at the same location.

Step 3: Keep the customer forms short

Collect a name and a usable contact method. Add a service choice and only the preparation questions your team will act on. Test both forms on a phone.

Step 4: Configure the team and notifications

Invite each staff member with access to the correct location. Enable booking confirmations and reminders, and test the queue call message with your own contact details.

Step 5: Run a complete test day

Add a walk-in, call and complete the visit, then create, reschedule, and cancel a test booking. Confirm that service durations reserve the expected time and that every status appears correctly in history.

Before opening, place the QR code where walk-ins arrive and make sure one team member is responsible for watching new entries during busy periods.
