How to clear or close a queue safely

Stop new entries while preserving an accurate record of customers already waiting.

Closing a queue stops new customers from joining. It does not automatically decide what happened to people who are already waiting.

Before closing, review every active entry. Complete customers who were served, mark genuine no-shows or cancellations accurately, and contact anyone who may still expect service.

Use the queue's open-status control to close it. Check the public page so the closed message is clear and does not invite customers to wait without being added.

Use deletion only for duplicate or test records when appropriate. Status history is more useful than removing real operational outcomes. Confirm the queue is empty and closed before the team leaves.
