How to get your event running on WaitQ in 5 steps

Prepare guest lists, entry queues, staff access, public check-in, and the event-day fallback.

Step 1: Create the event location

Add the venue as a location and confirm its address, public name, time zone, and event hours. Use one location for each venue whose staff and entry points operate separately.

Step 2: Prepare lists and customer data

Create a guest list for known attendees and a queue for arrivals who need to wait or register on site. Import guest data from the provided CSV or Excel template and review invalid rows before event day.

Step 3: Configure each entrance

Enable a kiosk or QR page where guests check themselves in. Keep the form short. If staff handle entry, make sure their list view exposes the fields used to identify a guest quickly.

Step 4: Assign staff access

Invite each check-in user and assign the correct business and location. Test their accounts on the actual phones, tablets, or laptops they will use.

Step 5: Rehearse the peak flow

Check in several test guests at once, search for an imported guest, correct an entry, and complete the expected status flow. Confirm what staff should do when the network is slow, a guest is missing, or a duplicate record appears.

Before doors open, charge every device, place QR codes, confirm the active lists, and export a reference copy of the guest list if your event procedure requires one.
